Insomniac’s Lullaby

Oh how I wish I could sleep
Oh how I wish I could dream.

To close my eyes and away to slowly drift
To feel the reflective rhythmic tide, a gift.
To muse about the life we all wish to see
To escape the nightmares lurking outside for me.
To dance with flying books and read their pages of tales
To scamper away from the darkness that finds me, never fails.
To rest in the vale of paper flowers, watch the clouds go passing by
To elude the cold hands, clenching me till I cry.

Oh how I wish I could rest from running all the time
Oh how I wish I could run away from this world with cruel
Oh how I wish I could shut my eyes and flee to my wonderland.
